Why battery details matter before shipping
“Contains batteries” is not a complete transport description. Available routes depend on chemistry, installation, quantity and energy rating.
Information to provide
- Battery chemistry, such as lithium-ion, lithium-metal, NiMH or dry cell;
- Installed in equipment, packed with equipment or shipped alone;
- Wh rating or lithium content and quantity per carton;
- Product and packaging photos plus any available test documents.
Final acceptance, declaration and labeling must follow the carrier, airline, destination and actual shipment requirements.
