FBA first mile: express, air or sea?
No single FBA route fits every shipment. The right choice depends on volume, replenishment timing, product restrictions, destination warehouse and landed cost.
Express courier
Best for samples, first batches and urgent replenishment. It has fewer handling stages, but volumetric weight can materially affect cost.
Air freight plus delivery
Useful for medium-sized shipments with a tighter restocking schedule. Confirm customs, duties, remote-area charges and appointment fees before booking.
Sea freight plus delivery
Best for larger planned shipments and cost-sensitive inventory. Allow buffer time for sailing schedules, clearance and delivery appointments.
Prepare these details
- Product description, material and intended use;
- Carton count, dimensions and gross weight;
- Cargo value and any batteries or restricted components;
- Amazon warehouse code and target receiving date.
